Breaking: Yayaha Bello in EFCC custody

Former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Feelers from the anti graft agency, Tuesday, confirmed that the former governor is in their custody.

“Yes, the former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has been arrested.”

Head of Media and Publicity of the Commission, Mr Dele Oyewale confirmed Bello’s arrest through the telephone on Tuesday.

He said that Bello was arrested by the commission’s Chief Security office.

He said, “It is true that we have him in our custody. The operatives of the commission arrested him.“

A fresh case was filed at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Abuja on September 26, against Bello, adding to a pending N80 billion money laundering case against him.

But Bello has refused to appear in court to answer to the charges. He was declared wanted by the EFCC for an earlier money laundering case.
