Sacked Rev Sis hints on marriage, claims over 100 men have reached out

A former Catholic sister, Kinse Shako Anastasia, who was recently dismissed from her religious congregation, has stirred social media conversations after revealing that her inbox has been flooded with marriage proposals from men eager to wed her.

Anastasia, who gained attention following her controversial exit from the convent, disclosed on Facebook that she had received messages from numerous men expressing their desire to marry her.

Anastasia was sacked from her job as a graduate assistant at a Catholic university in Abuja shortly after being dismissed from her Catholic congregation. Her troubles began following posts on Facebook in which she accused priests of ill-treatment and other alleged misconduct.

On September 24, 2025, Anastasia announced on Facebook that she had been dismissed from the Congregation of Mother of Perpetual Help of the Archangels Sisters (MOPHAS). The congregation later claimed she was dismissed for “apostasy” after declaring her conversion to Islam on Facebook in July 2025, a claim Anastasia has disputed.

In early October 2025, she revealed on Facebook that she had also been fired from her position at a Catholic University in Abuja as a result of her dismissal from the congregation.

In the months leading up to these events, Anastasia made several social media posts accusing some priests of seeing religious sisters as “bedmates” and exploiting them.

Meanwhile, she humorously claimed that “over a thousand men” had reached out, challenging the popular notion that “men are scarce.”

In a post that has since gone viral, the ex-reverend sister teased that she might consider organising an “audition or competition” to select her future husband from the long list of interested suitors. Her tone, though playful, has sparked widespread reactions from followers and commentators who debated whether she was serious about settling down.

“People keep saying men are scarce, yet they are rushing me from all directions. Maybe I’ll have to host a proper contest to pick one,” she quipped in her post. Anastasia further bantered with her audience, asking who among them would be willing to “sponsor the wedding” should she finally decide to tie the knot.

While she has not confirmed any plans to marry soon, Annastasia’s comments have fuelled speculation about her next steps following her departure from the convent.

Some supporters applauded her for embracing a new chapter of life beyond religious service, while others urged her to remain cautious amid the sudden attention.

The former nun’s story has continued to attract mixed reactions online, with many describing her journey as a reflection of personal freedom, resilience, and the human side of faith. Despite the controversies surrounding her dismissal, Anastasia appears determined to chart her own path—one that may, perhaps, include marriage.
