“I am depressed over tragic death of our soldiers, officers,” Tinubu reacts to killing of General Uba by ISWAP

President Bola Tinubu has expressed sadness over the killing of personnel of the Nigerian Army by ISWAP terrorists.

This is contained in a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Tuesday in Abuja.

Recall that ISWAP terrorists abducted and killed some soldiers, including Brigadier General Musa Uba.

Tinubu called on residents in local communities to support security operatives so they can perform their duties of securing the nation.

“I sympathise with the military over the death of the gallant soldiers and Brigadier General Musa Uba, who paid the ultimate price while on active duty fighting insurgents in Borno state.

“As the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, I am depressed with the tragic death of our soldiers and officers on active duty. May God comfort the families of Brigadier General Musa Uba and other fallen heroes.

“Our security forces cannot succeed in protecting us if the people don’t cooperate and share information that will help them keep our communities safe.

“Your cooperation is crucial in our fight against these security challenges,” the President said.

Terrorist attacks have intensified in recent weeks, sending panic into many Nigerians. One of the states where terrorists have found refuge is Kwara State. The state has come under heavy attacks as locals flee for safety, abandoning their houses.
