48-hour ultimatum: I won’t dignify you with an official reply, Ooni tauts Alaafin of Oyo

Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi has reacted to the 48-hour ultimatum issued to him by the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade over the chieftaincy title of ‘Okanlomo’ conferred on Ibadan-based business tycoon, Jubril Dotun Sanusi.

The Alaafin had give the Ooni a 48-hour ultimatum to withdraw the title, which according to Oba Owoade, only the Alaafin has the exclusive right to confer on any individual a chieftaincy title that covers the entire Yorubaland.

But Ooni in a series of tweets by his spokesperson, Moses Olafare said: “We cannot dignify the undignifiable with an official response.

”We leave the matter to be handled in the public court of opinion as it’s already being treated.

“Let us rather focus on narratives that unite us rather than the ones capable of dividing us. 48 hours my foot!!!”
