Abductors of 7 passengers in Kogi demand N30m for each victim
No fewer than seven travellers from Lagos to Kogi have reportedly been kidnapped in Kogi, with the abductors demanding N30m ransom for each victim
The travellers were said to have taken off from Iddo Park in Lagos heading for Taraba State and reportedly kidnapped in Kogi State.
“The travellers, who were passengers in a Taraba Express bus, were kidnapped in Ogorimagongo Local Government area of Kogi State at about 1800 hours on Thursday, January 22, 2026,” a source at Iddo Park told our Correspondent on Saturday, reports News Express.
The source disclosed that eight passengers and the driver were in the bus “but two passengers escaped at the point of kidnapping.”
“As at yesterday, the kidnappers are demanding N30m ransom for each victim,” the source added.
The incident, according to the source, has been reported to security operatives at the park and efforts are ongoing to secure the release of the captives.
Kogi has of late witnessed incidents of kidnapping of travellers.
