ADC chieftain questions credentials of Atiku, El-Rufai, Amaechi, David Mark, others

A member of the House of Representatives and key figure in the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Leke Abejide, has urged Nigerians to be cautious of certain political coalition leaders, warning that their return to power may not bring the change many expect.

Speaking on the Mic On Podcast, Abejide listed former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, David Mark, Rauf Aregbesola, Nasir El-Rufai, and Rotimi Amaechi, among those who have all held significant positions in the past.

According to him, their time in leadership did not produce remarkable progress, making it unlikely that they would deliver better results now.

Representing Yagba East, Yagba West and Mopamuro Federal Constituency in Kogi State, the ADC lawmaker questioned their track records, stating that they are neither divine nor miracle workers capable of instantly transforming the nation.

He challenged Nigerians to examine the results from their previous tenures before placing renewed trust in them.

Using his own political journey as an example, Abejide recalled promising to serve differently when he first entered the House of Representatives.

He argued that his re-election victories from a relatively small political party prove that results, not rhetoric, win public trust.

Abejide also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s governance style, describing the administration’s reforms as calculated efforts to rebuild the nation’s economy.

While acknowledging that the policies have caused hardship, he said the pressure is gradually reducing compared to when they were first implemented.

Highlighting developments in his constituency, Abejide claimed that the number of ongoing projects under the current administration is unprecedented.

He urged Nigerians to be patient, assuring that the reforms would yield positive outcomes in due time.
