Again, Dangote Refinery reduces prices of petrol to N890 per litre, diesel to ₦1,020 per litre
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery on Monday, February 24, 2025, announced another price reduction for petrol and diesel per litre.
The reduction showed that the price of petrol was reduced from ₦960 per litre to ₦890 per litre while the price of diesel per litre dropped from N1,075 to ₦1,020 per litre.
The development is expected to bring about some relief to consumers in view of the rising energy costs in Nigeria.
Stakeholders in the oil industry said that the price reduction was expected to ease the burden on businesses and individuals struggling with high transportation and operational costs.
Dangote Refinery’s move could also impact the broader energy sector, influencing market prices and potentially prompting other suppliers to review their rates.
Nigerians are also hopeful that further price reductions will still follow, given the fact that the refinery has increased local refining capacity and reduced drastically dependence on fuel importation.
