Air Peace ends night flights on regional routes

Air Peace has announced that it will move all its regional flights from night-time operations to daytime services, starting from February 2, 2026.

The airline said the change is meant to make travel easier for passengers, improve flight reliability and strengthen regional connections. It added that the new schedules will better match domestic, regional and long-haul flights.

The airline in a statement explained that operating during the day would improve the overall travel experience for passengers flying within West and Central Africa.

The spokesperson for Air Peace, Efe Osifo-Whiskey, said the decision is part of the airline’s wider plan to strengthen its regional network and improve on-time performance.

“The transition to daytime regional operations will enhance passenger comfort and travel experience, improve schedule reliability and on-time performance, provide stronger connectivity to night-time long-haul departures, and support business, government, and leisure travel across West and Central Africa,” Osifo-Whiskey said.

According to the airline, flights on the Lagos–Abidjan–Dakar–Banjul–Dakar–Abidjan–Lagos route will run every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Osifo-Whiskey explained that these flights will leave Lagos at 7:00 am and return at 9:40 pm on the same days.

She also said flights on the Lagos–Accra–Roberts International Airport (Monrovia)–Freetown–Roberts International–Accra–Lagos route will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. These flights will depart Lagos at 8:00 am and arrive back at 7:25 pm.

In addition, the airline will operate daily flights on the Lagos–Accra–Lagos route, with morning departures at 7:00 am. Extra evening flights will also be available on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Air Peace said the new timetable will help passengers connect better to night-time long-haul flights. It added that the change will also support trade, tourism and movement of people within the region.

The airline noted that the move will place it in a stronger position compared to other regional and international airlines flying out of Lagos.

“This optimized schedule gives Air Peace a strong competitive advantage over both regional and international carriers operating from Lagos, reinforcing its role as a key enabler of intra-African trade, tourism, and mobility,” the spokesperson added.

Air Peace said that with the new daytime regional schedule, it remains focused on expanding its presence across Africa while giving priority to safety, reliability and passenger comfort.

The airline added that the decision supports its long-term plan to strengthen Nigeria’s role as a major aviation hub in West Africa.
