Anambra youths give Soludo 7-day ultimatum to end attacks on Catholic priest

Youths from four local government areas in Anambra state, have given the state governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo 7-day ultimatum to stop attacks on Catholic priest, Rev Fr Emmanuel Obimma (aka Ebube Mmuo Nso) or face their wrath

They issued the statement under the aegis of Omambala Youths Association (OYA), comprising Oyi, Anambra East, Anambra West and Ayamelum council areas

They alleged that Soludo’s aides have been using defaming and demeaning words against the Spiritual Director of the Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry (Uke), aka Fr. Ebube Muonso.

The Catholic Priest had been under attack in the state, especially, from aides of the governor, activist and chieftains of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, since he advised the Governor to resign because of insecurity challenges being faced in the state

The youths from the area, made the resolution after an ’emergency crucial meeting’ in Otuocha, Anambra East LGA headquarters.

The group expressed disappointment that instead of attacking worsening cases of insecurity as observed by Fr. Ebube Muonso, the governor and his supporters were busy directing their attacks on the Catholic priest.

Describing words used by Soludo’s supporters against Fr. Obimma as defaming, the group requested the governor to cause his aides and supporters to withdraw such words within 7 -working days, failing to do so, youths of Omambala might be forced to withdraw their support for the ruling All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and the governor’s administration.

Prior to the call by Ebube for Soludo’s resignation, recall the retired Anglican Archbishop, Most Rev Godwin Okpala was kidnapped, a House of Assembly member, representing Onitsha North 1, Hon Justice Azuka was kidnapped, while another Catholic Priest, Rev Fr Tobias Okonkwo was killed by gunmen.
