CC Ngozi Okeke celebrates big as NSCDC promotes 113 DCC to rank of commandant

Ngozi Theodora Okeke has expressed joy over her promotion to the rank of Commandant by the authorities of the Nigeria security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
Okeke is among the 113 Deputy Commandants (DCCs) who were recently promoted to the rank of full Corps Commandants (CC).
The promoted Commandants, according to the Commandant General of the Corps, Professor Ahmed Audi, were on same rank for over 8-10 years.
The Commandant General stated the promotion was as a result of magnanimity and support of the Minister of Interior and his team that decided to cleared the backlog of the awaiting list of non promoted DCCs. He said the minister promised that in next promotion exams many will be promoted in order to continue to up those stagnant in one position for years.
Meanwhile, Commandant Okeke, was full if appreciation to the NSCDC authorities for the promotion, vowing to continue to uphold the ethics of the corps.
Okeke, who was decorated Thursday along others at corps’ headquarters in Abuja, noted that the promotion is a milestone in her career.
An author of many books, with one published by Trafford Publishing Company Philadelphia, USA, Okeke is an established writer of note, whose books are widely read. One of the books is also published by Amazon.com. She has three unpublished works.
Ngozi Theodora Okeke hails from Enugwu-Agidi, Njikoka, Anambra State. She started her secondary education at Agbor, Delta state, where she obtained the secondary school certificate (GCE).
She later earned the National Certificate of Education (NCE) at the Agbor College of Education, Delta State.
She thereafter obtained Diploma in Journalism at the Independent Journalism Centre, Ogba, Lagos in 2003.
She has a BSc degree in Marketing from the Houdegbe North American University, Repubique Du Cotonou, Benin Republic.
In 2012 she earned MSc degree in Marketing (Public Relations) from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugwu Campus.
She went back to school and obtained BSc/B.Ed in Political Science/Education Management at the Enugu State University.
She also has many certificates in professional courses, including advanced professional course in Investigation/Intelligence Forensic Studies (APC) at Security and Forensic Studies, Nigeria, Executive Managerial Course (EMC) in Peace/Reconciliation and Security Studies Centre at Advanced Peace and Reconciliation Centre of Nigeria., Professional Diploma in PR at Business Education Examination Centre (BEEC), Apapa Lagos, Professional Diploma in PR at Nigeria, (Chartered) Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) Lagos.
In 2008 she also had a Diploma in PR at Chartered Institute of Public Relations, CIPR, UK.
Others include, certificates in Crisis Management and Response, Basic course on Protection and Assistance Against Chemical Weapons, Prevention and Countering Violent Extremism using Non kinetic Approaches etc facilitated by NSCDC National Headquaters, Abuja with other bodies; PhD research student in Peace and Conflict Studies at the Federal University, Lokoja (2024/2025).
In job experience, Okeke has traversed the breath and length of the country. She was between 2004 and 2006 PR at the Ogun State Command.
Between 2006 and 2007 she was at the Ondo State Command, then from 2007 to 2008, she was the PRO Lagos State Command.
From Lagos she was moved in 2008 to Kwara State Command as PRO, albeit briefly
She moved back to Lagos later in 2008 until 2009 as Zone 1 (A) headquarters, TBS, Lagos as PRO.
She was also briefly at the Liaison Command, Ikoyi, Lagos; Divisional Officer (DO), Ojo Alaba, Lagos, from 2009 to 2010, she was also DO at Surulere Division, Lagos.
2010: DO at Somolu Division, Lagos, 2010-2012: DO at Amuwo Odofin Division, Lagos, 2012-2013: Commander, Lagos Airports (Local and International), 2013-2014: Divisional Intelligence Officer (DIO) at Suleja Division, Niger State Command.
*2014-2018: HOD Technical Dept, Niger State Command, Minna.
*2018-2019: Adm pool Officer at Gombe State Command.
*2019: HOU CTU at Nasarawa State Command, Lafia.
*2019-2022: HOD Crisis Management.
*2022-2024: HOU at Osun State Command.
And presently as HOD PGC (Private Guard Company) at Kogi State Command, Lokoja.
She is a member of several professional bodies including, the Nigeria Union of journalists, Association of Women Journalists, Recommended Fellow of NIPR, Chartered Institute of Marketing(CIM), UK, Chartered Institute of Public Relations CIPR, UK, Fellow: Security Forensic Studies Nigeria, among others.
She loves reading and writing, cooking, listening to music, dancing and meeting people.
