Dele Momodu says letter to Tinubu an advice not attack, warns against “civilian dictatorship”

Nigerian journalist and publisher, Dele Momodu, has expressed deep concerns about the current leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, warning against the rise of what he described as a “civilian dictatorship.”

Speaking during an interview on News Central TV, Momodu reflected on his stance towards the administration, emphasising that his recent letter to the president was meant as constructive advice, not an attack.

Following the political crises that ravaged Rivers State, and President Tinubu’s subtle preference for one of the gladiators, Nyesom Wike, the former governor of the state, and present Minister of the Federal Capital Territory against the incumbent governor, Mr. Siminalayi Fubara, Momodu, has written the letter to the president.

Momodu reminded the president of life after office, and the need to live according to his democratic billings and background, stating that God has been kind to him to give him what Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and the rest could not get, their popularity and doggedness notwithstanding.

He pointed out in the letter that the recent happenings at the Lagos State House of Assembly, where the lawmakers impeached his anointed Speaker, whom he restored, saying that was part of the signals towards the impending rebellion ahead.

According to Momodu while fielding questions on News Central TV, “my letter to President Tinubu is an advice, not an abuse, but I never imagined that he could go to such length as sacking an elected governor.

He further added that “I cannot sit down and watch us replace military dictatorship with civilian dictatorship.”
