Ella, 400L student killed by trigger happy police operatives in Benue

Tragedy has enveloped students and staff of Kwararafa University, Benue, as a student of the institution, identified as Ella, has been reportedly killed by men of the Nigeria Police.

Ella, a 400L student, met her tragic end when officers of the Nigeria Police Force allegedly opened fire on a vehicle during a stop-and-search operation at Wurukum Roundabout in Makurdi, Benue State.

According to human rights activist, Ukan Kurugh, the victim was in the vehicle when officers attached to the Makurdi E Division discharged their weapons, with a bullet fatally striking her.

Kurugh described the killing as “another unacceptable loss of innocent life” and demanded justice for the slain student.

When Benue State Police Public Relations Officer, Catherine Anene, was contacted for comments, she responded via text, stating, “I will call you back.”
