FG adopts online exams for NSCDC, NIS, fire service recruitment

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has announced a major change to its ongoing recruitment process, confirming that all shortlisted applicants will now be required to take their tests online.

In a statement signed by the Board’s Secretary, retired Major General A.M Jibril, it was revealed that the recruitment portal will officially close on Friday, November 7, 2025, after which the online test will run for one week.

“All shortlisted applicants will take part in an online test, which will commence from Wednesday, November 12, 2025, and conclude on Wednesday, November 19, 2025,” the statement read.

The Board also clarified that no physical CBT centres will be used, urging candidates to revisit the recruitment portal — recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng — to check their status and schedule their test dates.

“Applicants are to note that the test will be conducted exclusively online. Accordingly, all previously allocated CBT centres are discontinued,” it added.

The test link will be made public a day before the examination, and applicants were advised to ensure they have access to a stable internet connection and the required devices to sit for the test.

Jibril further assured applicants and the public that the entire recruitment process remains transparent and credible, stating that the Board is fully committed to a fair selection process.

The ongoing recruitment aims to fill positions in the four major paramilitary agencies under the CDCFIB, as part of efforts to boost national security and public safety.

According to the CDCFIB, a total of 1,911,141 Nigerians applied for the recruitment before the application portal closed on Monday, August 11.
