Galadima decries alleged coercion, intimidation of oppositions by administration of Tinubu

Buba Galadima, a chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has raised fresh concerns about what he described as desperate moves by the federal government ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Galadima alleged that the current administration is already laying the groundwork to manipulate the electoral process in 2027.

He accused government officials of employing intimidation and coercion to weaken the opposition rather than allowing the people’s votes to determine outcomes.

According to the NNPP stalwart, the ruling government’s tactics are clear from the way it pressures governors to switch political allegiance.

He stressed that this method reveals a lack of respect for democratic values and undermines the credibility of Nigeria’s electoral system.

Galadima also lamented the silence of many politicians, saying most are opportunists who avoid speaking against injustice to protect personal interests.

The outspoken politician maintained that Nigerian democracy is being threatened by backdoor schemes and that the opposition must be vigilant to safeguard the will of the electorate.

He further stated that the NNPP remains prepared to resist any form of manipulation and would stand firm in ensuring fairness during the upcoming polls.

In his words, “From their antics, they say it. When they go a governor to ask him to decamp, if you don’t decamp we will take away the power from you not that we will get you to be voted out. That’s what they do and they don’t understand.”
