Help rescue my wife, children, held “hostage” in Taraba, journalist makes distress appeal to Nigerian public
A Nigerian journalist has made a distress appeal to help locate his wife, Philomena Wama Samuel and twin babies – Andrew and David Udeze – said to be held under house arrest against their will in Taraba state. He said the twin babies are a year and half old.
According to Edozie Udeze, a journalist with The Nation newspaper, Lagos, his wife and children are being held “somewhere in Wukari,Taraba State, not too far from the palace of Aku.”
He said all efforts to locate or establish communication with them have remained fruitless.
“All means of communication have been cut off from her and the children,” he said.
Udeze said the woman, who is maternal aunt to his wife (mother’s elder sister) is holding his family “hostage and wants to appropriate the children to herself.”
He is therefore calling on human rights activists, the police, general public and other security agencies to help track his family and bring them back to Lagos.
