Pastor Ifediorah Joseph who was caught in a viral video flogging children in his in Rivers State has said his actions were a directive from the Holy Spirit and not a personal action.

He disclosed this after he was arrested by the police he was caught flogging children under the guise of spiritual cleansing.

The incident was said to have taken place in a church at Eneka area of Port Harcourt, Rivers state.

A viral video circulating online featured moments where the pastor used palm tree leaves to whip children severely on their heads and other parts of the body during a three-day deliverance session.

The video drew the attention of the Nigerian Police, and officers swung into action to arrest the cleric.

However, in the video posted by Channels Television, the embattled pastor Joseph revealed that the children did not undergo severe beatings and the blood stain on their bodies was not theirs but that of pigeon.

He noted that his actions were not self-motivated but were a result of spiritual motivation and directives from the Holy Spirit.

According to the video, “It was a directive from the Holy Spirit, not from me.”
