JUST IN: You are quilty as charged: Court tells Ajayi, corper killer, to die by hanging

Oluwatimileyin Ajayi, who hacked a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Salome Adaidu, to death is to die by hanging.

A Federal High Court sitting in Lafia, Nasarawa State, sentenced the Nigerian singer to death for the murder of Salome in Abuja suburbs.

Justice Simon Aboki, who delivered the judgment, declared that Ajayi was guilty of killing and dismembering Adaidu.

During the trial he pleaded not guilty in court

Ajayi, 32, was arraigned at the Nasarawa State High Court on January 17, on charges of culpable homicide punishable by death under Section 221 of the Penal Code.

Ajayi was arrested on January 12 in New Karshi, Karu Local Government Area, while transporting Adaidu’s severed head in a polythene bag.

The police investigations revealed he had dismembered the victim’s body into more than 50 pieces after killing her at his residence, allegedly driven by jealousy over suspicions of infidelity.

He was charged with one count of culpable homicide contrary to Section 221 of the Penal Code of Northern Nigeria and punishable by death.
