Man docked for allegedly sending ex-lover’s sex video to husband

A 44-year-old man, Gbenga Oluwatomisin, is currently facing trial at the Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, accused of sharing an explicit video of his former partner with her husband.

The video showed his intimate encounters with the woman.

Oluwatomisin, whose address has not been disclosed, is charged with two offences: conspiracy and causing a disturbance.

Prosecutor Insp. Sikiru Opaleye stated that the defendant allegedly worked with others, who are still unidentified, to carry out the act on January 7.

Opaleye said that Oluwatomisin’s actions led to a potential public disturbance by allegedly sending the explicit video and voice recordings to the husband of his former lover, Kehinde Olayiwola.

The prosecutor explained that Kehinde and Toyese Olayiwola had initially separated due to personal differences, during which Toyese became involved with Oluwatomisin. After some time, Kehinde and Toyese reconciled and resumed living together, but Oluwatomisin reportedly sought to continue his relationship with her, which she refused.

In response, Oluwatomisin allegedly sent the explicit video and voice recordings of their affair to Toyese’s husband, using the phone number 08129427990.

The prosecutor noted that the alleged offences took place in the Idi-Iroko area of Amuloko, Ibadan, and violated Sections 249 (d) and 517 of the Oyo State Criminal Code Laws of 2000.

After pleading not guilty to the charges, Oluwatomisin’s attorney, Mr. Idowu Adekoya, requested bail for his client under reasonable conditions.

Chief Magistrate Mrs. Olabisi Ogunkanmi granted bail in the amount of N100,000, requiring one surety who must be a close relative of the defendant, also in the same sum.

The case was then adjourned until March 25 for further proceedings.
