NCAA blacklists K1 De Ultimate for 6 months over alleged airport security breach

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has blacklisted legendary Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde Omogbolahan, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, from flying or using airport facilities in the country for allegedly breaching airport security protocols.

The sanction, which takes immediate effect, bars the musician from flying through any airport in Nigeria for the next six months.

A preliminary report by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) reportedly indicted the singer for alleged misconduct, including attempting to board a ValueJet Airlines flight with a flask containing liquid suspected to be alcohol.

According to the report, the contents spilled on airport security personnel and the pilot, leading to a confrontation and his subsequent denial of boarding.

However, K1 has pushed back the allegation. In a statement released on Wednesday, he maintained that the flask contained only plain water and not alcohol, as claimed by FAAN officials.

Further investigations by relevant authorities are expected to shed more light on the incident.
