NNPP gives El-Rufai 48-hr ultimatum to retract comments about Tinubu’s govt
The New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, has denied the former governor of Kaduna State, Nasiru El-Rufai’s claims that President Tinubu was responsible for the crisis in the party.
The former governor of Kaduna State, Nasiru El-Rufai was at the centre of controversies after his departure from the APC.
His actions were further fueled by his comments that President Tinubu was responsible for the crisis in other political parties.
According to the former governor, the political parties at the receiving end of President Tinubu’s schemes were the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), the Labour Party (LP) and the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).
However, in a statement issued by the New Nigeria People’s Party Secretary, Oginni Sunday in Abeokuta, said the comments of the former Kaduna governor was a cry of a drowning man.
According to the party spokesman in a statement, titled: “NNPP Denies El-Rufai’s Claim Of Tinubu Govt’s Involvement In Party Crisis, Demands Retraction Within 48 Hours,” Nasiru El-Rufai’s statements were based on the expulsion of Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso and the suspension of Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano state from the party.
“The ranting of the former Governor of Kaduna State Nasir El-Rufai on the expulsion of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and the suspension of Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State from NNPP is a cry of a drowning man,” he said.
The party further demanded the retraction of the comments made by the former governor within 48 hours.
