No politician can defeat Tinubu in 2027, says Atiku’s son

Abba Abubakar, son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has said no Nigerian politician can defeat President Bola Tinubu in 2027 election.

He declared that no political party can prevent President Tinubu from returning to Aso Rock in 2027.

Abba, who recently joined the All Progressives Congress, APC, spoke, on Monday, in Yola, the capital of Adamawa State, after collecting his membership registration card at Gwadabawa Ward in Yola North LGA.

He stated: “I want to make it very clear that nobody or any political party can stop President Tinubu from returning to Aso Rock in 2027.

This is as he formally registered as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State.

Abubakar completed his registration on Monday at Gwadabawa Ward, Yola North Local Government Area, where party members and supporters turned out to receive him.

He expressed gratitude to APC leaders and supporters for the warm reception, describing the show of support as encouraging.

“All you can see is that these people have come out to support me, and I am very thankful,” he said. Abubakar also acknowledged the leadership of the party across various levels in the state, including members of the state executive, women and youth leaders, as well as ward officials.

“I want to thank the APC members, the leaders in the state exco, the women leaders, the youth leaders and the chairman. I want to thank the people of Adamawa because I am proud of you. I am a son to you. By the grace of God, this journey we are on will go very far,” he stated.

His temporary APC membership slip confirmed his registration details as Adamawa State, Yola North Local Government Area, and Gwadabawa Ward.

Reacting earlier to the development, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar said his son’s decision to join the APC was a personal choice guided by individual conscience, noting that such political differences are not unusual in a democratic society.

Atiku explained that divergent political alignments within families are a normal feature of plural politics and should not be viewed as extraordinary.

The development comes months after Atiku Abubakar formally left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the platform on which he contested the presidency on multiple occasions. Following his exit from the PDP, Atiku joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and is currently involved in an ADC-led coalition aimed at consolidating support ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
