NUJ Abuja loses former NAWOJ chairperson, Stella Oko-Esene

Nigeria Union of Journalists, Abuja, Chapel, has announced the passing of former chairperson of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists ( NAWOJ), Stella Oko-Esene.

The announcement was made by the NUJ Abuja secretary, Jude Oyekunle, Monday morning.

Oyekunle said in the statement: “We regret to announce the cancellation of the Disability-Inclusive Journalism Symposium earlier scheduled to be held today Monday, October 6, 2025, at the NUJ Secretariat, Utako, Abuja.

“The decision follows the sad passing of the former Chairperson of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists ( NAWOJ), Stella Esene Okoh a while ago.

“A new date for the event will be announced in due course.

“May the soul of our late Chairperson rest in peace.”

The cause of her death was not revealed.
