Onogie of Ewohimi Kingdom sues for unity in meeting with sons, daughters in Abuja

Unity and the development of Ewohimi were the focal points when the Onojie of Ewohimi kingdom, His Royal Highness (HRH), Lord Destiny Ebatamaehi Ojienefoh II, met with a section of sons and daughters of the community in Abuja on Sunday.
His Royal Highness, who spoke extempore, advised that unity, among others, was imperative for peace and development of Ewohimi Kingdom.
He said the community is distinctive, from what he has observed in just two years of his reign, especially during his coronation and the cooperation of all in executing projects. He asserted that if this unity continues it will be difficult to break the resolve of the community.
The Onojie used the opportunity to thank every body who stood by him during the burial of late father and his coronation. “I want to thank everyone for the support of all through the burial of my late father, even till now. Ewohimi has been there for me. I appreciate everyone.”
He said he was eager to see that the community is taken to the next level of development, noting he cannot do it alone without the support of all. He said he is like a spokesman for the community, to solicit, leverage on bringing everyone on board, and coordinate activities. “I’m like a spokesman for Ewohimi, what I can do is to go out and solicit for help. I’m not a politician to make promises, I do not have capacity to promise because I cannot do it alone.”
He said towards that, he was able to attract deployment of a unit of soldiers to Ewohimi after meeting with the Army Brigade commander in Benin. He disclosed that it has been approved and the soldiers have been allocated a piece of land in Ikeken area of the community as a base to take off.
He advised people interested in citing companies in Ewohimi to meet him directly, adding he will not tolerate opposers of investors and good intentions any longer.
“Come home to do things, let people know Ewohimi has great sons so that they will respect us. I will step in when you come to invest. I’m ready to create a safe haven for those who want to invest” he assured all. He stressed that he has asked every quarter to organise vigilante to forestall pretty thieves and kidnapping currently ravaging the community.
Chief Emmanuel Aghedo, the Oliha of Ewohimi, hinted that works were already in progress in the push for development of the community, advising that all should bring home their Investments, ideas and ingenuities for greater Ewohimi.
He called for the establishment of Ewohimi Community Development Association (ECDA), Abuja chapter, saying Ewohimi was blessed with great sons and daughters doing well in their various endeavours.
Many who attended the gathering eulogized the King for his foresight in facilitating the formation of onward operation of the army in Ewohimi.
There were suggestions of a development plan to be drawn up and tapping the potentials of all to move Ewohimi forward. It was also suggested that the regeneration of the community should be upper most, as regard urbanization, tackling of cultism, youths indulgence in social vices, doing away with harmful cultural practices – all as part of developmental agenda.
HRH, Lord Destiny Ebatamaehi Ojienefoh II, in responding to some of observations made, noted that there is no way tradition can be proscribed totally, acknowledging that “some are good, some are bad, but it’s matter of understanding. I will embrace new ideas and make sure they do not conflict with existing structures,” he summed.
In terms of security, he said it was the business of all, saying the perpetrators are both local and foreign elements, noting it was the responsibility of all to look out for the bad eggs.
