Pastor arrested for allegedly stealing church equipment

Apostle Sunday Abang has been arrested after he was reportedly caught attempting to steal church equipment at the Apostolic Church in Afaha Akai, Akwa Ibom.

Abang hails from Uko Ukim, Udung Uko Local Government Area of the state.

According to eyewitnesses, the cleric was intercepted within the church premises while allegedly trying to make away with power arms and a keyboard shortly after activities had ended.

Congregants raised an alarm, leading to his apprehension before any items left the sanctuary.

The incident has sparked outrage and disbelief among members, many describing it as a “terrible time” for the church.

Church authorities confirmed awareness of the situation and stated that appropriate steps are being taken in line with church doctrine and civil law.
