Pastor Enenche: Court to rule on bail application by Enenche Eneche on August 19
A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), presided over by Justice C. N. Oji, has fixed August 19, 2025, for ruling on a bail application filed by Peter Enenche, popularly known as Enenche Enenche.
Through his counsel, Dr. S. M. Oyeghe, Esq., Enenche is seeking an order for the restoration of his bail, or a fresh order admitting him to bail.
The application followed the revocation of his bail by Magistrate Emmanuel Iyanna of the FCT Magistrate Court, who has been compulsorily retired.
After hearing arguments from both counsel, the court adjourned until August 19 for its ruling.
Enenche Enenche and former Dunamis pastor, Abraham Daniel, are currently standing trial at the Magistrate’s Court on the complaint of Pastor Paul Enenche, Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre.
Pastor Paul alleges that the duo, along with his younger brother, Alexander Enenche, and Reno Omokri, defamed him through social media posts.
The charge was later discontinued against Alexander Enenche and Reno Omokri, leaving only Enenche Enenche and Abraham Daniel as defendants in the case.
On August 1, SaharaReporters reported that Enenche Enenche’s application to restore his bail had suffered another setback owing to the retirement of Magistrate Iyanna.
The application was previously fixed for July 29, 2025, for hearing and determination, but could not proceed following the retirement of the trial Magistrate.
The case of Enenche Enenche has continued to raise concerns, especially on access to justice in Nigeria and the oppressive forces of the rich.
The Magistrate had, in a previous ruling, refused to recuse himself from the matter, and insisted on proceeding with the case despite a trust deficit and manifest allegations of bias and compromise levelled against him.
Hence, the magistrate’s haste in revoking the bail of Enenche was not surprising.
Recounting his ordeal recently, Enenche Enenche stated, “I am fine and in high spirits. I have spent 49 days in detention on a presumed civil case that was converted to criminal.
“I spent 17 days in prison before I was arraigned, nine days before I was granted bail, and have spent 23 days after the revocation of the bail.”
Enenche Enenche avowed that unless his matter was reassigned and bail granted to him, he was prepared to stay in prison till 2030.
“I am willing to stay here even till 2030, when the file will be reassigned and a motion for my bail is granted, as long as Dr Paul Adama and others will appear in court. I am willing to pay any price to see that happen so that next time he will stop bending and influencing systems.”
He appealed to his supporters to ignore the lies that it was one Concerned Christian Youth Form led by Paul Adama that facilitated his incarceration.
He revealed that the said group was only registered on March 12, 2025, “more than one month after we came out of prison”.
“How can a group that was not registered take people to prison on a matter that happened before their existence?” he asked.
“Be strong, I am refined. I will never bend, never give in, I will never back down, and I will never surrender.”
