Shock as gunmen kidnap ‘Ezenwanyi’, traditional worshippers during river ritual in Enugu

Some group of unknown gunmen suspected to be herdsmen have kidnapped a priestess and three other traditional worshippers at Ohebe Orba in Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State, while they were on their way to a river for rituals.

According to an Enugu media personality, Chijinkem Ugwuanyi, who confirmed the incident via the Facebook platform, stated that the gunmen also abducted four other local farmers in the same village.

The kidnappers have contacted the families of the victims, initially demanding for a ransom of N50 million but later reduced it to N15 million, the report said.
