Soludo leads in 19 LGAs in Anambra governorship election

Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, has won 19 local government areas already announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Saturday’s election.

Soludo dusted his opponents, winning the governorship election by a wide margin.

Results from 19 local government areas announced so far show that the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) leads the Anambra governorship race with 389,789 votes.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) follows with 91,592 votes, while the Labour Party (LP) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) trail with 10,366 and 1,230 votes, respectively.

With only two LGAs left to be collated, APGA’s candidate appears set to secure a second term in office.
