US to deport Nigerian over gang membership

The United States of America says it will deport a convicted Nigerian, Ibrahim Ijaoba, over gang membership and his involvement in violent crimes.

The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency disclosed this in a statement shared on its Verify X page.

The statement noted that Ijaoba entered the US illegally and was a member of the Bloods, a group notorious as a violent street gang.It added that Ijaoba was also convicted of assaulting a police officer, armed robbery, and dealing in drugs.

The statement read, “Ibrahim Tunde Ijaoba is a criminal illegal alien from Nigeria and a former member of the Bloods — a notoriously violent street gang.

“He entered illegally and then racked up an extensive rap sheet that includes convictions for aggravated assault on a police officer with a firearm, assault and aggravated assault, armed robbery, obstruction, drug sales, and escaping police custody.”

The statement concluded that Ijaoba has been taken into custody and will be deported soon.

“He has a final removal order and awaits deportation in ICE custody,” it concluded.

The US has continued to clamp down on criminal aliens as part of efforts to curb crime.
