Who ordered withdrawal of soldiers from Maga School before abduction? Kebbi Gov pleads for probe

Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has once again questioned the role of the military high command in the kidnap of 25 pupils of Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School Maga, in the state.

Soldiers stationed at the school withdrew from duty post moments before bandits attacked and kidnapped 25 female students.

Governor Idris asked the military authorities to investigate the withdrawal as who gave the order.

Receiving NLC President, Joe Ajearo, who was on a sympathy visit to Birnin Kebbi, Friday, Governor Nasir Idris, asked the authorities concerned to explain who authorised the withdrawal of the soldiers.

“Intelligence report indicated that by 3am, the military withdrew from guard duty at the school, and by 3.45am, the abduction took place.

“Who gave the orders for security withdrawal at that particular time, we request the military authorities to investigate and find out who gave the order.

“The Federal and Kebbi State Governments are doing everything possible to ensure the safe return of our daughters in peace.

“Enemies are working against this government and the entire country, Kebbi will be alive to its responsibility to rescue our daughters”, the Governor assured.

Comrade Idris thanked the NLC President and other Labour Leaders for the sympathy visit, saying it has inspired confidence in the government.

Earlier, Comrade Ajearo described the abduction of the girls as a distraction and calculated attempt to make the people and the nation uncomfortable.

“We are here in solidarity with you, we will not waver, the entire labour movement and Nigerian workers stand by you and Kebbi people.

“We are pained, we shall speak and act in unison to reach the turning point”, Ajearo stated.
