Tottenham sack coach Igor Tudor after 44 days at helm of affairs

Tottenham Hotspur have officially sacked interim head coach, Igor Tudor, after a disastrous 44-day spell that has left the club fighting for its Premier League survival.

The decision, which the club described as a ‘mutual agreement’ comes as Spurs sit in 17th place, just one point above the relegation zone.

The North London club decided to move on from the Croatian manager following a winless five-game run in the league, culminating in a 3–0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest.

While Tudor managed a 3–2 victory over Atlético Madrid in the Champions League, the result was not enough to prevent a 7–5 aggregate exit from the competition. In total, Tudor leaves with a record of one win, one draw, and five losses from his seven matches in charge.

Reports from talkSPORT suggest that the club delayed the official announcement out of respect for Tudor following the recent death of his father, Mario.
With his departure now confirmed, coaching staff members Tomislav Rogic and Riccardo Ragnacci have also left the club with immediate effect.

As Tottenham searches for its third manager of the season, The Sun reports that the hierarchy is eyeing Roberto De Zerbi as a primary target, though a return for former boss Mauricio Pochettino or another interim stint for Ryan Mason remain possibilities.

The club now faces a desperate sprint to avoid the drop with only seven matches remaining in the campaign.
